Resources for getting a product job

These are the books, job boards, and articles I point people to when they're looking for a product job. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out - there's contact info at the bottom of this page.

Books about job searching, interviewing, and product careers

These books are roughly in suggested reading order. As on my main resources page, I link out to Lenny Rachitsky's podcast interviews where they exist.

Never search alone

Phyl Terry's book is the manual for forming a Job Search Council: a small peer support group of fellow job seekers. The councils are free to join through the Never Search Alone community, and every book sale funds that free program.

Where to look for jobs

Lenny's Jobs and Job Trawlers seem to capture most of the open roles out there, and Welcome to the Jungle rounds things out.

  • Lenny's Jobs - Lenny's job board, with open roles in product, growth, AI, and startups at big tech companies and fast-growing startups.
  • Job Trawlers - scans more than 40 job platforms daily for roles you might otherwise miss, lets you add jobs from anywhere else, and tracks your applications in one pipeline.
  • Welcome to the Jungle - browse roles alongside company profiles that show you the culture and teams before you apply.
