Lowell Spinners game

Last Friday, some friends took us to our first Lowell Spinners game. They’re a short season single-A team about 30 minutes north of Boston, affiliated with the Red Sox. The evening was a lot of fun, much more than I remember a major league game being.

LaLacheur (Spinners) park
Edward A. LeLacheur Park is small, only holding about 5,000 fans. This was taken from our seat, the most expensive in the house, right behind the Spinners’ dugout. Only $7.50.

From our seats we had a great view of the players:

They were great seats – we could watch the players watching the game:

Or the shows between innings that keep the kids entertained:

It was a wonderful way to spend a summer evening, and I’m not even a baseball fan.

  1. Wow. I freaking love these pictures. What kind of camera do you use, and when can you teach me how to take a decent picture?

  2. I used our cheapie (relatively) Canon digital SLR and my friend’s (relatively) cheap long stabilized zoom. Taking a decent picture was easy – I took a lot of mediocre ones (here’re all of them) and these were the 7 I liked.
